re: the cartridge stays in the van

If the sniper had half a brain he'd use a bolt action rifle and the spent case would stay in the gun.

Rick I agree. Not only stays in the van, but doesn't even stick the barrel out the window. He could have a pedestal or tripod of some type to steady the weapon inside the van, and no one ever actaully sees the gun or even the gun barrel.
