I'm loath to argue this, Tim, as it's such a central part of my worldview, and thus unchangeable. I think both defense and art could exist without government funding. But I believe it's the purpose of government to, among other things, support these two endeavors. They balance each other, and civilization would not exist without either. I have a feeling you miss Karen. She'd be great about getting into all the ins and outs. :-) As for me, some things are not grist for argument (though I don't mind a "this is how I feel, this is how you feel" discussion). I'm sorry.
