c2,

<< The logic does not change with the age of the article >>

Of course it does and particularly the logic of that particular article although points made in that article were valid at the time they were written and some are still valid.

As for the comment that "significant number of EDGE customers has yet emerged" potential customers are starting to crawl out of the woodwork.

At the time that article was written EDGE ready BST's were shipping but EDGE transceivers and software for the EDGE "ready" EDGE transceivers were not. They are now, not only here but in Europe and Asia. All indicators are positive relative to how trialing is proceeding and technology is evolving.

Time marches on. Technology marches with it.

I've seen no evidence that the technical problems involved in running both EDGE and GSM have been solved.

Remember those no-see-ums. You'll see em when they bite you.

Carranza, do you remember August/September 2001? At that time yourself, JohnG and others were SO worried about a suppoused problem with GPRS. That PBCCH (Packet Broadcast Control Channel) problem was suppoused to delay Nokia´s GPRS phones etc.

Do you know how that problem was solved, did you ever see any evidence that the PBCCH problem was solved? Do you think that really was a problem after all? And finally, do you have any real evidence that the suppoused EDGE problems are real ones?
