I always get my money up front,

I spent ten years as a Headhunter back in the '70s, and one question I would always get an answer to, usually indirectly, is "Do you like to sue?" When I found someone who was oriented that way, I would avoid them like the plague. Some people consider going to court to be a fun. They are never happier than when they are involved in a lawsuit. If their lawyer loses, they get another lawyer and sue him. No, Thank you!

When I first started out doing Home Improvement Work, I took over from my employer who had gone under. I went through several small claims actions by his previous clients, and learned that a contractor did not have a chance in Small Claims Court. I won the few I lost there on appeal, but learned to never let anyone take me to court. I was ahead letting people beat me out of money and saving the time and energy to make money with someone else.
