Medigap policy costs vary from state to state, and in amount of coverage. Plan A is the most basic, it covers the 20% that Medicare B doesn't cover, plus an addition year of hospitalization. In Virginia, it can cost anywhere between $650 and $1000 depending on the company and the waiting period. Plan J is the most comprehensive, includes in home nursing care, prescription drug benefits, etc. It can cost between $900 and $2500 annually, again depending on the waiting period.
