It is hard to understand how Preterism can be viewed as heresy, for it affirms "the orthodox faith and orthodox doctrines" in all points as expressed in the great creeds and confessions while endeavoring to "honor God rightly" by insisting that the consummation of God's redemptive purpose in Christ's parousia has not been frustrated or posponed, but rather accomplished according to the clear chronology set forth in the NT. Preterists believe that this evidence is so compelling that we are willing to suffer the accusations and condemnations of others in our effort to affirm the words of the Apostle Paul. "let God be true and every man a liar." As it is written; So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge" (Rom 3:4) We invite others seriously interested in investigating these matters to do so within the great tradition for the furtherance of the reformation, recognizing the need of the church to be "reformed and always reforming according to the Word of God." Preterists thus affirm that, following upon His coming in glory in the destruction of Jerusalem, Christ excercises judgement after death upon all. The great White Throne judgement is generally regarded as the same depicted in Matt. 25:31-46,81. We maintain that all will be judged at death when we are resurrected. Some thoughts used that were published by Randall Otto. (Heresy refers to the false doctrine of those "who have abandoned the faith and move others to do the same." I see no such mention in anything Elect has written.) Therefore, I ask you to please consider that we have said nothing that would deny the principle that God has provided redemption in Christ.) I caution you to holster your accusations without thinking them through clearly. Otherwise, some may think you are the little boy who crys "wolf" at every juncture that separates our doctrines. That being, men condemn others for what they believe even though they believe in Christ's work of redemption. It is that spirit that put my Lord on the cross. Many good and godly men of the faith were put to death and 'begged' to repent by those who did so. This, of all things has been 'consistent'. When I looked at the myriad of beliefs concerning eschatology, I can conclude but one thing for sure. There has never been a 'consensus'. I thank you for 'caring' about my soul but they who put to death many such as John Hus also claimed it was out of love for him and others that they were doing so. I know that spirit very well, and will continue to suffer the condemnation of men like you rather than to compromise the word of God. Those who say I torture scripture are completely without excuse as they butcher the following verses themselves: Matthew 24:34 Verily I say to you, This generation will not have passed away until ALL these things shall have taken place. You are on far more dangerous ground - freely condemning me without fear - using for your confidence - others who are a part of that same condemning spirit.
