Hmmmmmmmmm.......isn't Pelosi the rep from CA. Let's see.....CA has 54 electoral college votes [and we've learned how important they are] and 34
million people.

Yes, sweet...........very sweet!!

Once upon a time a very popular president (90% approval was it?) came home "triumphant" from a war in a far away place. 1 Year later he was voted out of office and replaced by a Democratic president who went on to deliver 8 years of unprecedented wealth and relative peace to his nation all through years of frivolous political persecution by the party of non-hate and non-lies. Let's see...was it that the country leaned left then and has now seen the path of enlightenment? Or is it that the country was not frightened then by a Republican agenda of fear exploitation?

Will the Reps be able to keep America in a state of fear for 2 more years? And if so, will Americans appreciate such or will it grow tired of perennially warring "wag the dog" fights around the globe. And will the world grow wiery of a quarrelsome America that walks away from treaties, declares unilateral "my way or the highway" policies, unilaterally propones to attack other nations on suspicion alone (and then proceeds to make concession upon concession at the very UN it works so hard to undermine and declares devoid of a backbone), and will America tolerate the death of environmental sensitivity, and will America lead a world that behaves similarly down a path of intolerance and conflict? And will America appreciate the consequence of such policies only when inevitably they lead to the recruitment of terror and additional terrorist acts perpetrated on American soil and people?

Al

Ted,

You may want to examine the electoral colege, and recent voting trends. You would know that Dems MUST WIN in California to avoid a complete dabacle. Another MUST WIN state for Dems is New York. I have read some rumors that Bush is going to make a serious attempt to win New York. During the last cycle, New York was completely written off by Bush.

If either one of these 2 is competitive for Bush, the Dem candidate can just forget the whole thing, because if Dems have to spend resources in either one of these states (both of which are optional for Bush), they will not be able to challenge Bush in any of his strong states.
