"As long as it is limited by law (most particularly the constitution) then it is not arbitrary. If it exceeds those limits reguarly then it is not some rogue illegal element of the government but the whole governmen acting in an arbitrary fashion"

So the Government is NOT arbitrary because it is often limited by the Constitution? And the Government is WISE because it is sometimes so; and the Government is STUPID because it sometimes is?

I think you are playing games, Tim. I hope it is fun for you.

"No I do define what is right for the group"

No, you don't. That works in a dictatorship if you command sufficient force. It doesn't work on SI or anywhere else. You do not have that power.

"It could be having your own personal opinion about what is right and wrong for the group, and considering opinions different from this as wrong (which is what I meant"

Oh. That is a different concept than defining what is right for the social group.

"To an extent it is wrong, but you need to have taxes to avoid anarchy so there really is no choice"

Whatever...so we both agree that taxes are necesssary, then?

"if it does it would be in the New Testament, which the woman in the story could not have read since it didn't exist at the time."

Jesus preached the living word of God. Why is it relevant whether or not this woman had a bible??
