That is hysterical! The example you used was leading into Feb 2000, which was followed by one of top 3 best 6 week periods in market history! So are we going to rocket up like 1000 points or so on the nas between now and 12/31 or 14% on the SP? Holy crap! Yeah, I wanna be short into that.

You can't be serious. You're comparing a 15 month daily chart with a 2 month hourly chart. Anyway, if you look at the rest of the chart you see that the rally didn't end for 2 years and 600 S&P points higher. And it took almost 4 years to get back to that 1998 level. Are you willing to wait? If the pattern is indeed repeating but on a smaller time frame, then shorts are going to suffer for a few more months.

Some posters expressed in their replies concern that what may follow is a continuation of the rally. I think one must remember that in ’98 the pattern was but a brief decline, followed by a resumption of the great uptrend… This time, it is a correction during a Bear. The similarity will end, and the resolution will probably be different.
