Haim, you seriously ought to buy a newspaper in NYC and check rental prices. if you're seeing them as major up you are reading the chart upside down.

car rentals i'll take your word for it; haven't needed to rent a car since i bought my majorly deflated-in-price VW last year with my 0% loan.

healthcare and ground transport are UP because of a f'd up gov't, especially that arsehole Gulliani who never met a spending program he didn't like. perfect guy to be the chairman of Woldcom, actually; spend money you don't have like its going out of style and leave it the the next guy to figure out what the f' to do.

finally, please please please do not use examples from New York City (or for that matter CA) and try to apply them to what is going on in the US at large. you guys live on your own friggin' little planet on that island....
