Why so? Bringing problems to light is often part of solving them.

I think the point of the article is almost the opposite: That allowing a group to blame the rest of society for all its problems and not be challenged on that is definitely counterproductive. In an open democratic society the members of that group do have opportunities, such as education, to overcome barriers and if they choose to squander them the rest of that society is not at fault.

The conditions reflect a general melt down in the relevant sectors of society.
Which ones? Which meltdowns?

Student success is everybody's business and requires every one of us/them to accept ownership.
No one can make someone else succeed. They do it themselves for themselves.
