"perfectly cast" movies.

"The Quiet Man." Right down to every Irish extra. "Here's a stick to beat the lovely lady with!" Victor McLaughlin was 78 when he filmed the fight scene. McLaughlin is the only actor to receive both the Victoria Cross, (South African War) and the Oscar, (The Informer).

Perfectly cast movies, the 2-degrees-of-John Huston version:

"The Maltese Falcon" -- Bogie, Lorre and Greenstreet at their peak, Huston directs. (1941)

"Chinatown" -- Nicholson and Dunaway take their careers to a new level, Huston nails pure evil as Noah Cross. (1974)

"The Royal Tenenbaums" -- fine cast-against-type performances from all, with Angelica at the mad vortex. (2001)
