Frankly, I think the Dems are making too big of a deal out of it and will get hurt also.

In my view, there is nothing more racist than USING race to further one's political objectives. And this is precisely what Clinton & Clinton are doing. These people are just as racist as Strom & Robert Byrd. The fact that the black community doesn't recognize what is happening is immaterial.

Ted Re... It was the comment that opened pandora's box and showed us what T. Lott's history was all about. You're entitled to feel its an overreaction but I don't see it that way. I think his actions clearly show a man who is racist.<

Frankly, I think the Dems are making too big of a deal out of it and will get hurt also.

Its not surprising you would see it that way but frankly, you're opinion is just one of many and apparently, Mr. Lott's colleagues do not agree with you.

All of the southern democrats were before they turned republican. And that is the problem for the Dems.

This would be fall-down funny if it wasn't for the fact you are dead-on serious. Why do you think the Dixiecrats jumped the Dem party and went to the GOP? The problem is for the GOP, not the Dems.

And you call me an idiot!

Behind his back???? GW said publically several days ago he wanted him out in so many words. Where do you get this stuff.

Huh? That's why Thursday AM, Mr. Lott said he was going to fight this because he had the backing of his colleagues and the President, and then the next AM tendered his resignation after it became clearer and clearer during the day Thursday, he did not have his colleagues' and the President's support.

But frankly, what does it matter, it was typical conservative politics.
