"In particular, he said China has added to the worldwide glut of manufacturing capacity for high-end semiconductors."

Actually I'm really concerned about that. Today China is the home of 3 very large semi mfg companies that I know of: Taiwan SMC, Shanghai SMC, and (I think its called) Grace SMC.

Where are they going to find buyers for all their products and services? I think its great that they're keeping AMAT in business, but it worries me that while everyone else is cutting back mfg capacity to come in line with decreased demand the Chinese companies are ramping it up.

Semi mfg seems to have become a nationalist venture, just like the ASEAN countries were running over each other to make their own cars in the mid-90s.

if this asian flu or china meltdown happens, at that point I would add more to my positions in chinese stocks like ntes. Right now the whole area is so hyped I don't feel comfortable adding, even though the chinese portals are doing great.

still think we're in a bear market rally? I don't. I'm not sure if this is a bull, but it isn't a bear if you ask me.
