Dollar devaluation:

The danger is of course competitive devaluation among all countries. As far as fiat is concerned, the value is undefinable....except in its relation to gold and commodities.

In the near future, we will hear complaints from Euroland and Asia re: low and dropping value of the dollar, problems exporting to US, principle investment loss in US securities, etc.

As far as the US is concerned, cutbacks in Govt. services, military, etc. will be forced, resulting in even greater job losses.

What's the solution?

JW, been gone for a while and got sick and tired of reading all the political crap on the other thread. Hopefully, this thread will be limited to financial discussion.

My question for you is when do you think people will see the Euro is not the only alternative to the dollar and gold is the ultimate currency. I think gold will continue to strenghten as the dollar weakens but gold will go ballistic when it is seen as an alternative to the Euro as well.
