what I don't get is when did this happen to the republicans in California... this had been a solid conservative state especially wrt governors for the longest time... duekmajian (sp?), wilson those guys got elected- and wilson had a few budget crises in between there... then all of the sudden starting with Dan Lundgren last time around the republicans were toast, and it wasn't just the governors office it was everywhere... Bill Campbell tried to run for something statewide and didn't make it give me a break! The guy is the dean at the Hass school at Berkeley now.

If Riordan a moderate had been nominated you might not have Grey Davis to slander anymore. Instead you guys nominated a pretty corrupt guy. I dont believe all negative ads, Simon's or Davis's, but it was clear Simon had few who would defend him.
