Amen to all that. I remember one occasion when Bush gave the impression he thought Simon had leprosy. :-) Wouldn't let the guy get anywhere near him.

Take away the energy crisis and Davis would be strong now. Those who criticize him fail to note the huge amounts of money spent to discredit him and falsely blame him for the energy crisis. Many special interests, especially from the Houston energy group led by Enron joined forces to try and tar him with the energy blame. In fact he was the victim of a collosal conspiracy to gouge California and other states, deceive authorities, defeat regulators and gouge as much as possible while the new OIL TICKET was coming into the White House and turned a blind eye (at least) to the proceedings.
