Which political leaders --especially Israel's jackbooted generals-turned-pols-- care about what their populace stand for? Did Europe's peoples stand for WWI, WWII, the Algerian war, the Vietnam war, etc? WWI was labeled the "War to end all wars" --ROFL... After WWII, Europeans pledged "Plus jamais ca!" --Never again!-- until Milosevic's genocide against Muslims in Bosnia and Kosovo... Israel is run by a bunch of freakish Fascists who won't flinch from nuking an Arab country. BTW, the use of nuclear tactical weapons is already OFFICIALLY factored in Israel's wargame options... just like Russia and her threat to use nukes against Taleban-ruled Afghanistan. Gus

Hawk, You are having difficulties facing reality. What does Isra'El need nuclear weapons for? their conventional weaponry is more than adequate to annihilate the whole region. Race-baiting? How is that Hawk? What race are we talking about? Spurious accusations? What spurious accusations? As it applies to the Arabs, who are now only emerging from their own colonialism (aside from Zionist colonialism), you wish to have them immediately come to a state of democracy as it is only now practiced in the West. A mere 30 years ago found women and minorities without true freedom to pursue academics and professional goals here in the good old US of A. The calls of Arab backwardness could very well be pretext to reclaim that land for its oil and it strategic position in Asia. Or perhaps if they refuse to be bribed and cajoled to do what we want, we will have to make our move on them like any imperial power would have done in the past. Only problem is, they are willing to die for their rights just as other people have had to die for theirs.
