Robert. The following article is now, not a thousand years ago but now. Can a nation like this ever catch up to the civilized world?

PAKISTAN: Focus on honour killings
Jan. 2003
" Methods of carrying out honour killings vary across the country. In the southern province of Sindh, where it is often referred to as "karo kari", the victim is hacked to death, often with the complicity of the community. Among the tribal Pashtun communities in North West Frontier Province (NWFP) and Balochistan in the southwest, where the practice is known as "tur", the victim can be hacked, stabbed, burned or shot. In both cases, the practice's name means "black" in the local languages, in reference to the perceived culturally unacceptable behaviour of the victims."

" The victims range from pre-pubescent girls to grandmothers. They are usually killed on the mere allegation of having engaged in 'illicit' sexual relationships. They are never given an opportunity to give their version of events: most significantly of all, often the making of the allegation alone suffices to defile a man's honour and, concomitantly, to justify killing the woman."

As the civilized world is trying to hold back the hordes of terrorists, millions more are hatching each day.

Well Robert.. I'm not sure if you are merely joking, or your post actually represents your perspective (I hope not)..

People are people Robert... Behaviors and beliefs are learned, not instinctive. Hatred is learned, Love is instinctive (IMO). Racism is learned, whereas children at play indifferent of skin color teach us that tolerance is generally instinctive.

Thus, I do not consider that there are "hordes" of terrorists in the middle east at this moment. I would be surprised if the actual numbers involved in direct or logistical support of terrorist activities are likely less than 1 million worldwide.

And ...... Europe? Where are they? It's more in their neighborhood than ours?

Why do you think they're complaining so much about the US overthrowing Saddam?? We're p*ssing in their pond. We're undermining the long-established French presence in Iraq and Syria. And the Germans have also benefitted economically by their ties to the Arab world. They see the US now dictating the terms of their participation..

And they are completely unable to oppose us, except through their dysfunctional UN shenanigans.
