Can you elaborate further on black september. All i remember are the dead athletes. What happened to the terrorists and how did Germany handle this badly. I must have been "drinking" then too. mike

I was in Germany then, I hated the fact that a Western Government was afraid to deal responsibly with that situation.

Yes, in 1972 the police wasn't prepared for terror attacks like the hijacking of the complete Israeli Olympian team, and the rescue operation in Fürstenfeldbruck had a horrible end. But as a result the anti-terror unit GSG-9 was founded and employed successfully in 1977 in Mogadishu.

To my knowledge the GSG-9 was used as a model for the US Delta Forces but UncleWest might know more about it.

After all you let the terrorists escape rather than deal with the issue.

Well, the USA might want to watch closely flight lesson students who don't want to learn how to land.
