Physics was practically reinvented by the likes of Einstein, Bohr, and Schrodinger. Modern art was invented by Picasso, Matisse, Duchamp, Brancusi, and many others. The Bauhaus had a tremendous influence on architecture and design, for example, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's Lakeshore Drive (Chicago) apartments and the Seagram Building (New York). There were various great directors, such as Jean Renoir, Marcel Ophuls, Federico Fellini, Alfred Hitchcock, and Ingmar Bergman. I am sure there were other things......
