It should be obvious that

a) massive retaliation against Iraq has little benefit in deterring any of the thousands of individual suicide terrorists in the US and other countries. As Rumsfeld calls them, they are "undeterrables". In fact, it only increases recruitment, clearly, as the CIA reports.

b) Disregarding our foreign policy actions wrt Israel (or India in the Paki/India conflict which has ties to AQ) that spawn further destruction of Americans is probably a bad idea, don't you think?

If so, then the facts of involvement of our gov't with other foreign nationals is a big deal. That is not appeasement. That is called common sense, and preventing the blood-feuds from infecting our country, that we see overseas. Appeasement would be letting Israel manipulate American policy, for their own purposes and as a client mercenary for US purposes, if that is what is happening.

How about this: Do you think massive attacks on some particular Arab country will help prevent, or promote these blood-feuds from further infecting this country?

As far as Perle being Israeli, that is only significant if the terrorists who murdered him knew of that fact. We won't know, because they've been eliminated also, and these issues are soft-peddled.

As far as anti-Semetic, I've spent time in Israel in kibbutz, with the gov't, and later as a visitor. My impression of the Israeli people is that they are a wonderful culture, and an insane gov't. Much like our own, at the moment.

Why do you specifically refer to Israel and not other countries?

Certainly, any government leaders holding dual citizenship should be looked at closely. What other countries have their citizens holding key positions in our government?

That sounds anti-Semitic as well as paranoid.

That statement sounds like a diversion. What is your agenda?

Tom

Alastair,

Re: Why do you specifically refer to Israel and not other countries? That sounds anti-Semitic as well as paranoid.

You really seem to be either ill-informed or willfully doltish about the cabal of Zionists who surround George Bush at the highest levels of war planning and military posture.

Perle, Wolfowitz, Feith and others are all zealots and worse. There is no other country that has the ear of the President as does Israel via the dual-citizenship advisors who are most adversely impacting U.S. foreign policy to be destabilizing, aggressive and counter-productive to the goals of 95% of all Americans. It is ridiculous to claim "anti-semitism" when in fact both MSI and myself are most alarmed by the insane policies of the "white" European-originated Zionists of attempted genocide or removal of native (semitic) Palestinians from their traditional homelands based on historically dubious claims from the Bible. MSI and myself are anti-colonialists. Not as you've mischaracterized the situation.

The real paranoids are people like Perle who see the necessity of vast arsenals of nuclear and conventional weapons to protect his interests. OTOH, you would be hard pressed to suggest that someone such as myself who is a fan of disarmament to be paranoid.

Salaam aleikum, Ray
