Hussein is deapicable(sic) and I hope he gets taken out, but rest assured he is no hitler. Pol Pot comes far closer to being Hitler and we just stood idly by. We gave weapons and chemicals to Hussein We trained Bin Laden We have a one sided policy towards Israel and Palestine We supported a corrupt Shah of Iran >> Why exactly are comparisons between Hitler and Hussein so absurd? Hitler took his armies and moved into neighboring countries which he claimed belonged to Germany. Saddam did the same. Hitler selected ethnic minorities and dissidents for torture and extermination. Saddam has done the same. Hitler gassed his own people. Saddam has done the same. Hitler attempted to develop weapons of mass destruction. Saddam has done the same. Hitler was a maniac and so is Hussein. Europe appeased Hitler and failed to confront him until he was too powerful to stop. Europe appeases Saddam and refuses to believe that a man who tortures his adversaries and has been caught red handed with WMD's still has them. How stupid is mankind? The difference is that the weapons today are far more lethal than 50 years ago. Moreover, other countries are willing to sell that which Iraq cannot build. Was it Nikita Khruschev who said capitalists will sell us the rope we use to hang them? Your reference to our giving weapons and chemicals to Hussein proves what? That previous administrations made mistakes? No kidding. They dealt with the issues that were relevant to then. The lesser of two evils. We can't hold George Bush responsible for previous administrations. He has to deal with the hand being dealt him. I don't know what you mean by squandering the support we had after 911. What support? It isn't like a deposit in a bank account. People's memories are short. Most don't really care what happens that doesn't immediately impact them. Oh sure, they express a little grief but hey those rich, self important Americans probably had it coming....Bull sh!t. The support we get from nations like France, Germany, China or Russia isn't worth a pot to piss in. It never was. The US demonstrated remarkable restraint after 911. We are the most powerful country in the world. We have for over 50 years had the ability to destroy every living creature. There is no country that could stand a chance against us one on one. Moreover our technological edge is widening. This is the reason the Soviet Union imploded. Reagan's administration, the same one that aided Saddam against Iran defeated the "evil Soviet Empire" without firing a shot. Inherent with that power is a sense of world responsibility. There are rogues who roam the earth ready to devour the weak. There are petty criminals like Saddam and Bin Ladin who through some sick sense of justice determine that they are going to right the wrongs of the world through their pathetic @ss backward sense of justice. The fools ignore them as if they will go away. They don't. They become bolder until finally they do something so catastrophic that they can no longer be ignored. <<Bush 2 is eggagerating(sic) the case against Hussein right now and most of the population is against unilateral action there right now. If he has a case, he should state it. >> You are only going to hear what you want to mishedlo. When Powell presents the evidence the majority will believe and the malcontents will bitch and moan. Face it, you already know everything. You know that Bush is in this for the oil. What a joke! We could have taken the oil any time we wanted to. That isn't how we operate and never has been. When did we train Bin Ladin? We educated him. Was that wrong? Don't be foolish. What people do with their education can be used for good or for evil. They are responsible for that. Not the US. Sure we supported Afghanistan against the Soviet Union. Was it wrong? Only to someone who can Monday morning quarterback. <<I think Bush is a liar gun slinging cowboy, owned by big oil and big banks. >> And I think your comment is treasonous slander. If it weren't for the laws of this great country which allow you to say such drivel, you would be behind bars or, if in Iraq, in the Bath torture chambers.... We are far from perfect. But there still isn't a more God fearing or civilized country in the world. We still send out over 60% of the world foreign aid. We still respond to emergencies everywhere with zeal and compassion. When we are no longer able, or willing, who will pick up the slack?
