The German opposition should start an initiative to get rid of Schröder

Does German law allow mid-term elections ?

When I started thinking about my reaction to this news the word "disgrace" immediately came to my mind.

I have to agree Jochen.. It's an incredibly dumb political move, IMO, for them to deny Turkey protection.. It sets a rather nasty precedent to deny any NATO member the assistance they believe they need.. I can't recall the US ever doing anything like this..

And it's tantamount to a racial anti-Turkish slur for them to deny such assistance to Ankara.

<Currently he only represents 22% of the German voters. Actually three months ago a well-known German history professor published an article in the FAZ: "Citizens, climb the barricades!">

Jochen, didn't Hitler and Mein Kampf get more support than that at free elections? With the high unemployment in Germany, are there any moves or suggestions to "Put them in uniform"?

Young, male Germans seem not to be thrilled by immigrants and the overall political situation. Is there a cultural shift happening in the younger age group? Is East Germany more or less fully reabsorbed and culturally acclimatized?

Nervously waiting for Germany to once again do their thing.

thought experiment:

What would Europe look like, if the U.S. expelled France (and Germany?) from NATO, and admitted Russia?
