I never got to "Shiloh"

It was one of Foote's first, published in '52. I reserved it at the library. I just reserved a couple of his major non fiction, "The Civil War: A Narrative: Fort Sumter to Perryville, Fredericksburg to Meridian, Red River to Appomattox," and "Conversations With Shelby Foote."

I remember that Foote impressed the hell out of me on Ken Burn's "Civil War" series, and I have been meaning to read him. I have a very thin knowledge of the Civil War. I was always more interested in other periods. I suspect that is due to the number of Battles over a long period of years. Takes a lot of study to get your arms around the war.
