Al, so what makes you think both Americans and Iraqis will die by the thousands this time? Urban warfare and bombing. What makes you think they will not? Let me tell you something you may or may not know. In urban warfare, our soldiers are trained to abide by specific rules of engagement. For example, when going into a building or room, our soldiers are told that they must make sure that there are no innocent non-combatants, before using force. A typical 2nd liutenant, in charge of a typical platoon, knows that the first two guys walking into a room occupied by the enemy will probably be casualties, because they can't walk in guns blazing or follow a hand granade or other deadly force until they are sure that the occupants are combatants.
