I'm all against intruding into the bedroom, as long as the rights of the unborn are not being trampled by some bra-burning, self-centered, irresponsible, fetus killer in that bedroom (or at the local Planned Parenthood abortion factory).

There is no such thing as an organized "religious right." There are several organized blocks which have consistent voting habits for one party or the other in lopsided numbers, like blacks, gays, jews, the "rich", etc. But among those who view themselves as "very religious", the dems get about the same number of votes as the repubs.
