By going after Saddam, US/UK are going to do Iraq a favor. Even if we end up making money from the oil and having a better economy due to mroe oil on the market (hence lower prices), then the Iraqi people still win.

There will be a little taste of the free world in the Middle East, which the people of the neighboring countries can envy.

Saddam has chemical weapons. There are thousands of tons of unaccounted materials. If these have been destroyed, even years ago, there will be burial sites containing thousands of toins of waste. I doubt he has a nuclear bomb but he had a nuclear program. Do you think he would restart that program given the chance? Would you like to see Saddam with a few nukes? If you withdraw the US forces in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait then that is what will happen. Would you like the continuing starvation of the poor in Iraq due to sanctions, or remove the sanctions so that Saddam can rebuild his military might with the valuable Iraqi Oil?

You criticise US for going after the oil, but the alternative is that Saddam has it. It isn't his oil, but he will have it anyway and the proceeds will go towards him, not his people. Towards his palaces, his torture regime, his weapons program.

Do you want hundreds of UN inspectors there for evermore? Is that how you like to see your tax dollars spent on their six figure salaries, desert-hardy vehicles, helicoipters, lab support workers and equipment, back office support nnetwork all over the world. That aint cheap but how much of it do you think is funded by UN members such as Libya and Syria who want the inspectors to stay indefinitely?

When almost the entire world was appeasing Hitler, was Britain right or wrong to stand up to him in 1939. Or should they have taken your attitude and said "well he hasn't attacked us yet, Poland's problem is not our problem, let's concentrate on our own problems" and allowed Hitler to get stronger until his strength reached the point where he couldn't be beaten? Perhaps back then UK should have declared war a couple of years earlier when Hitler was building up his strength. Perhaps back then US should have got involved in 1939, instead of waiting until an attack on home soil. If US had thrown their full weight into WW2 in 1939, then maybe Pearl Harbor wouldn't have happened and millions of people wouldn't have died in battle.

Now you want to repeat the same mistake.

Let Bush go in, he can steal the oil for all the Iraqi people could care, they don;'t get the benefit of it today. Let him break OPEC's cartel and reduce the cost of doing business and break the financial strength of the dictators that exchange oil for bullets. Sure Bush makes some stupid statements and gets confused between the bible and the constitution, but on the Iraq issue he is dead right.

And when it is all over, he will be looking pretty good, and the Frances and Germanys of the world will be looking plain dumb. And the world will be a better place.

i see your motive for all these rants now.....

even though you agree we need to take these murderous bastards out before they get us...

you just don't like the way we are going about it because you think "you" have a better way of doing it....

so because the government isn't doing it on what you think should be the right schedule.....well....they must be clueless and you know a better way to do it then them....

i think that about sums it up.....

lets see....they have all these intelligence agents working for them.....they know everything that goes on.....most of it can't be shared in public.....

and you read articles by others who likely are clueless also and then draw your conclusions from misinformation and think you have a better way about going about this war...

lets see....these are things we know......al qaeda is spread out in many many countries.....but their main training camp and safe harbor was in afghanistan....that was their biggest concentration......

we destroyed that.....now like the cockroaches they are....once the light came on and they were exposed....they are now scattered everywhere again.....

ok....now they are scattered everywhere.....what good does an army do for that.....it doesn't do any good.....

so...we have agents and special forces working on these scattered cockroaches as you hear of arrest now of cells in many different countries including our own......

thats whats happening to al qaeda......

now we have this big army....don't need a big army for scattered cockroaches....got smaller groups for that....so.....we go to the next target....

so instead of having a big army just sit around doing nothing.....and if we wait till all the al qaeda are wiped out before we act again....that could take years....and give the next target more time to just gain more strength...

so.....i guess instead of wasting time waiting....and because this war will have many fronts......its time to go after the next biggest threat after al qaeda.....and because this is a concentrated strike.....this is the armys job.......

we will be fighting the al qaeda cockroaches for years......

so according to your thoughts and plan......we should sit around and do nothing till al qaeda is rounded up.....thus....giving all the others more time to build up and be more powerful than they are now.....maybe years to build up......

thats where your plan falls apart......you can't send an army after scattered cockroaches......and you can't leave an army sit idle for years when there will be many fronts to fight on this new war on terror.....

if you could isolate al qaeda in a group again......your plan might be reasonable to get them first.....

but thats not going to happen.....so we are fighting al qaeda now with small covert groups.....thats the only way right now.....

and at the same time.....going after the next target with the army......

this is the way it will be for years.....because this is not a "conventional" war.....

so if thats why you are ranting against the government.....well you are dead wrong....because we are dismantling al qaeda the only way we can.....in small groups that they run in.....and you hear about it every week.....and i'm sure theres things going on that doesn't get in the press for security reasons.....

a war with many fronts....just remember that....
