The statement that: "Still...even an imperfect process is preferable to outright aggression." ...does not set up a false dichotomy. "Would the world have been a better place if the US had launched a war against Germany in 1936 to counter its brazen violations of restrictions it agreed to after past aggressions?" The only one who could answer that would be a time traveler who had travelled for infinity. Would Hitler's stuff cost 100 billion lives in a thousand years, or would it save 381 trillion lives? You might know. I do not. You are probably more concerned with YOUR OWN world than with anything else...so why not keep it at a level which may be rationally discussed?
