Wow, Lizzie. I think that's the most pessimistic I've see you in a long while. Don't worry. Things look really bad now, but I think it's temporary. The market is sending a clear message to the U.S. gov't: either putt or get off the green wrt Iraq.

Some guy emailing into CNN's crossfire said it best, though: "If Bush doesn't resolve the Iraq crisis soon, I'll drive a tank into Baghdad myself." I thought that was pretty funny in a dark humor sort of way.

I suspect this market stays flat for years at this point.

Yikes... we agree!!! Now I might have to re-think my position <gg>

As far as: "Cisco's costs especially are way too high without options compensation" ...

... Cisco employees won't be put out if they end up with the same in their pockets after this ruling as they did before, will they? Do they really care whether it's shareholders or the company footing the bill?

And if shareholders are less worried about what it costs when they do the paying of employees instead of the company... well that sounds like an operational definition of "dumb money".

That's like me thinking a pool is much less expensive if my wife pays the pool-maintenance company rather than me.

John

Health care costs could go up higher this year than gas. Some co's will get hit with health care premium increases of over 20%.
