What shoes you wear...what hand you wipe your bum with. You summit to the divine will as it is written...PERIOD. It is one thing to talk about papal infallibility and the atrocities committed back then. It is another to misunderstand the essential differences here. The Islamic "duty" relates to a cultural striving for cultural power. Of course all Muslim Nations strive for theocracy and have it when they truly predominate. Islam Nations do not allow any other religions...PERIOD. America was able to control Turkey with the military with lavish money and worldly support. But with the new Government it has become more dificult, hasn't it? Likewise, they have pandered to Saudi Arabia because it is not only wealthy, but the Islamic center of Holiness. "That is the only way to safety if what you say is true" I don't believe that is the way to safety. I believe it is allowing the joys of secularism and human rights and freedoms under law in order that superstition and madness from old books is forgotten. The political/social reason for religion is equality and power. When people are given some self sufficiency and power they are no longer attracted to whatever virgins are promised them in the grave. Allow people to enjoy virgins and fresh water and fresh fruit here and now! "Against religious fanaticism? Useless. It doesn't even work against secular states like Cuba" It HAS been working. As for Cuba...it is unique. In spite what you may have heard...many Cubans love and admire Castro. I give the old bastard credit.
