Art market valuations were nothing more than a pyramid , house of cards, fueled by a buy high sell higher mentality. That, along with the previously unheard of growth in retirement investment by average workers, dumping piles of cash on 25 yr old "investment experts" who in turn dumped that cash into whatever was moving up. The whole establishment knew valuations were insane. They were too busy trying to get rich off it, rather that control it. Valuations are still historically high, this bear ain't over.

Re:<<Without the discipline exercised by Clinton, business would have hesitated to make the kinds of investments that created one of the biggest economic booms in history. >>

You are clueless Art. The entire bubble happened on Clinton's watch. You want to talk about someone who had no self control look no further that your boy Bill. History will report that he was the worst and most corrupt President ever. He was the most corrupt and worst Governor ever. His sexual exploits were even more disgusting that those of JFK...The Foster "murder", the Mena drug cartel, the multiple assassinations, his own drug parties, Flowers, Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, Monica....All will eventually come out. You defend a man who warrants none and will ultimately be recognized for who he was; one of the most despicable human beings alive.

The greed demonstrated by companies like Enron, WCOM, TYC and others began during Clinton's watch. Excess whether it be sexual, financial etc were a sign of the times and the leadership.

President Bush has taken steps to bring these things under control. It will take time but it will happen.

You can point your finger in any direction you want but it all comes back to your hero, a truly disgusting man.
