American Spirit,re:"the war worth it". At least we know
there is 'MWD' (masses of weapon of destruction). Richard
Perle and the insiders maybe richer than before the war.
We'll never know, though.

Some folks are hinging the validity of the war on the prospect of finding WMD or direct ties to terrorism. I am not.( Although I do belive there harbor and actively encourage acts of terrorism.) This Iraqi regime has got to have one of the worst records of crimes against humanity over the last half century. That plus the first Gulf War and their violations of UN resolutions was more than enough to justify action.

No one knows at this point what post-war Iraq will look like but I have no doubt that the Kurds and Shiites and Iraqi neighbors will breathe easier.

You are correct on gas prices. However, I have had many debates on corporate taxation on SI, mainly with Mr. Flapjack. My position is that the corporate income tax is a fallacy and should be eliminated. In reality it is just passed on to the end consumer. What would happen if we phased out federal taxation of corporate income? Prices would come down for consumers, dividends would go up for shareholders (they should pay the tax, not the corporation), benefits would go up for employees and more jobs would result from increased investment. Business is the engine of economic growth and by taxing it, we limit that growth and the positive repercussions to the overall economy.
