You always have such excellent posts.

I've been trying to determine how much is enough for safety. I use zone alarm pro. After initial setup, allowing for sites I use regularly, it seems pretty decent. I also leave on the MSFT firewall although it doesn't seem to do anything. Occasionally, when I have a real problem with a site I wish to enter, I disable ZoneAlarm and the MSFT stays on.

Should I use adaware or spybot or a similar program with it. I don't seem to get many popups anymore since using zone alarm.

I also use NAV 2003 and have the subscription. Will this have the unpacking utility that others have posted about on this thread?

Will I now be protected from worms, trojans, etc., not that I really know the difference in all these things. I don't care that much about people knowing generally which sites I go to. I'm more concerned with performance of my computer as I always buy top line machines given importance of my business to computer performance. I'd hate to have sites putting on stuff that impedes performance.

One other question about firewalls. Is there a difference between softward firewall and what is called a "physical firewall?" I am looking for WIFI set ups for small office. Should I look for a firewall in the hardware or should I continue to use zonealarm.

Thanks again very much.

Drive Image programs.

Could someone tell me what these programs do and the purpose?

Do they backup your entire drive or just operating files?

Is it something one would use because of a problem with windows, a physical problem with a hard drive or both?

Is it something one needs in XP given the existence of System Restore. I realize that might be a stupid question but at least I realize it <ggg>
