you'll do an armed standoff to keep that cat

I would probably keep the cat if I could. We're very compatible. She's a very sound sleeper. Usually, cats will curl up with you only to be disturbed if you sneeze or shift position or turn on the TV. I always feel so guilty when I move and they get up and go. With this cat, I can watch TV, get up for a trip to the kitchen or bathroom, get back in bed, and the cat never moves a whisker. The other night she was sleeping on the comforter at the foot of the bed when I woke up chilly. Reluctantly, I pulled up the comforter and the cat just came along with it. She opened one eye, then went right back to sleep. Mellow cat.

The person who had her before says that she will go for walks, not on a leash, but just stay with you. I'm not ready to put that to the test, but it would be cool if it were true.

Can't keep a cat right now, though. Given my father's age, I need to be free to pop off to Tucson for weeks or months if need be. If not for that, you'd be right. She deserves a good home.
