Sun,
Could Iran control Hizbollah in the spiritual sense as opposed just cutting off funding? Can Hizbollah ever live in peace with Israel and forgo terror as a means? I remember reading somewhere that Hizbollah was against suicide bombing as opposed to other terror groups. Is Hamas an Iran supported group to the same extent as hizbollah? mike

ST,

The Aqsa mosque is built on the site where in the Moslem tradition the Prophet Mohammed ascended to Heaven. It is also the site of the ruins of the Temple of Solomon. The exact same acre of land is claimed by the two religions. And both wish to have exclusive control of the site. That is why Ariel Sharon went specificly to this site. And is why the current Palestinian uprising re-flared, and finds support from Moslems - Arab and non Arab. If it was merely the Palestinians fighting for their land, life and dignity, it is unlikely anyone would care.
