We're killing the Republican Guard," Moseley said at the close of his morning briefing at the U.S. air operations center in Saudi Arabia, according to a deputy. "But I want you to kill them faster."

An apt analogy would be sending the high school football team to roll the elementary school for their lunch money. It's not a victory that inspires.

"no Iraqi plane took to the air..."

Of course not, it would have instant suicide...In GW I they flew their planes to Iran and landed them there and never flew them in that war either...simply a major mismatch like the whole war was and was expected to be. I wonder why they used their tanks against our tanks and with prowling A-10's in the air....they are nowhere near a match for our tanks and can only shoot half as far, hence our tanks shoot at them from about 2 miles away, well out of the 1 mile range of theirs.
The whole thing was a turkey shoot.....as expected. The thing unexpected was that the Iraqi's fought back somewhat this time and that Saddam did not use the WMD's we supposedly went there to find...

LindyBill,
Yeah, Moseley knows what's going on.

I liked another comment he had. He said the press was talking about "softening up" the Republican guard. He said, "we aren't softening them up, we're killing them."

Too many lefties wonder what happened to saddam's fighting forces; I imagine the majority of them assumed room temperature without knowing what hit them.
