Yeah but Ralph was a fake authoritarian. Alice was really in charge most of the time.

How many episodes had Ricky doing anything like that? And Ralph Cramden was not a role model for anyone, and Alice was the strong one in their house......

Maybe those episodes of the Lucy Show that ended with Desi giving Lucy a spanking. Or when Ralph Kramden said to Alice, "Clear out Alice, some MEN are gonna do some drinkin"

Don't forget Popeye the sailor man. I watched those toons every day when I got home from elementary school. Eat spinach, beat up people and get the girl. Spinach equals strength...equals girls.

The local channel WTTG-5 in DC had an after school show called Captian Tug which offered "Three Stoogies" and "Popeye" five days a week.

In my opinion the message about how to act when married (My three sons etc) was completely diffent then the message about how one goes about dating.
