well you obviously reject the notion that competition can bring prices down. Only government edict can get us the "right" prices --

I take it you don't object to profits per se in the industry -- just a given level of them??

This is a big peeve for me. We in the US are paying (via higher prescrption costs) for the drug research. While in Canada or other countries, the governments there regulate the drug price. So drug companies are happy to sell in these countries since they still can sell higher than production costs and make a profit.

What we need to do here in the US is not allow drug companies to sell drugs for a higher cost than they're willing to sell them for in other countries. This will ultimately cause the prices to rise in foreign countries helping to recover the research costs... and reducing costs here in the US.
