After the Bell-Bed Bath & Beyond sags, Micron up
Wed June 18, 2003 06:10 PM ET
(Adds Micron, other stocks)
NEW YORK, June 18 (Reuters) - The shares of home goods retailer Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. BBBY.O fell in extended-hours trading on Wednesday after it backed Wall Street's consensus view for its second-quarter and full-year earnings.

Its shares fell to $41.46 from $42.43 at the close of Nasdaq trading.

But Micron Technology Inc. MU.N , the world's second- biggest maker of computer-memory chips, gained after it reported a fiscal third-quarter loss that widened from the prior as revenue fell, but was still better than expected.

Its shares rose to $13.24 on the Island electronic brokerage system from $13.08 at the close.

The shares of contract manufacturer Jabil Circuit Inc. JBL.N also rose after it posted a lower quarterly net profit compared with a year ago, but its earnings before items came in higher than expected.

Jabil, a top provider of outsourced production of technology products, rose to $24.50 on the Instinet electronic brokerage system from $24.21 at Wednesday's close.

Cablevision Systems Corp. CVC.N fell to $22 from $22.54 at the close after it said several employees had improperly accounted for expense accruals at a division of the company.

Patron:

Their balance sheet has looked like a dog's breakfast for many moons now.

"Mortally wounded"? Nawh...... disregard that knife in its back, and that blood trailing in its wake. (g)
