peter,

here's another interesting chess quote:

in chess, the threat is stronger than the execution - - aron nimzovich

which means, roughly,

(i) it's human nature to exaggerate the gravity of a threat

(ii) if you are being attacked, you will take too many extraordinary steps to defend and, thereby, ruin your position

of course, the maxim also has its application in the markets. i've also employed it in, oh, thousands of sales and contract negotiations.

sales, who has spent too much time moving the pieces

To Peter, Richard, MZ et al

About 22 years ago, my nephew was in an auto accident in which he experienced a sever blow to the head. He developed Epilepsy and has taken a medicine that sedates him ever since.

While the Epilepsy is under control, the medication has resulted in his living a very sedentary life and gaining lots of weight. If he doesn't get his weight under control soon, it will be a bigger problem than Epilepsy. He is 39.

Are there any new medications in development that you are aware of for Epilepsy that are non-sedating?

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks as always.
