brent, Like I said, this bandying is becoming folly.
Carbon dating is more accurate than anything known, in the past. Perfect? No, nothing is perfect.
As far as the evolutionary account goes, how can you prove it is false, and that your creation theory is so correct. All you have to back up your theory, is a single book. Genesis was written in times of simple minds that could easily be influenced by, age old, legends.
Nor is my mind narrow. I once, adamantly, denied the possibility of evolution, but over many years of study, have seen the evidence of it being a fact of nature. Evolution does not imply that humans evolved, directly, from apes, or monkeys, as some fanatics rant and rave about. All evolution really means is the adaptation of species, and the survival of the fitest, that happened over millions of years. Such evidence of adaptation can be seen in the Galapgos Islands, and many other places including the USA. Anyone can look at a blue jay from Texas, and compare it to one in Illinois. The difference is obvious, and is because the same, basic, bird had to adapt to the ecological system he lives in. Have you ever considered that God could be, a huge, mass of power that can envelope great chunks of the universe, and can take any form He chooses, but His original appearance is that of a super, one celled, being, and that He began all life on Earth in his own shape, that of an amoeba? Then as evolution progressed over millions of years (I will look up the accepted number of millions of years, again, and post it later} He saw potential in a particular specie, such as neanterthal man, and imbibed a special spirit in him that we, usually, call a soul. That might explain the sudden appearance of cro-magnon man, which became the dominant biped of his day.
Then we must consider that there are other universes He has to tend to. Surely, you don't think our universe is the only one in existence. If so, where does it begin, and where does it end? Does it have distinct borders? If so, what can be on the other side of these borders? Men will never know all the answers until he is given the knowledge by the Supreme Being. That, in other words, is said in your Bible.
Since Jesus is the Son of God, He wasn't there in Genesis. Now you are trying to play word games in a desperate attempt to cloud the issue. The book of genesis does not mention Jesus, so Jesus could not have mentioned the creation theory. According to the Bible, Jesus is the Son of God, and rose to Heaven to sit at God's right side. Can on entity sit at it's own right, or left, side for that matter?
I feel sure there is a spiritual place that the essence of humans go to after the death of their animal physical body, but doubt that it would be as envisioned as so many Christian speakers. Do you, really, believe that that place, you call Heaven, has pearly gates, streets of gold, and mansions for our heanenly bodies to live in? Since Jesus made it quite clear that He distained material wealth, and all displays of oppulence, why would that all change in Heaven? Or, is that just another figment of man's imagination?
There may be typos in the post, but to heck with them. I do not have time to find, and edit, them all. |
