DR,

re: Has Limbaugh ever suggested we should "lock up" drug addicts?

Yes.

Despite the fact that the guy is a liar and phony and makes a great living by bringing out the worst in people, I still feel sorry for him. He's going to go through hell, personally and professionally.

Maybe, maybe, he'll learn the definition of compassion. Maybe he will have an epiphany, and realize that 80% of folks are neither conservative or liberal, that we make up our minds on each, individual issue, and that most of us just want to get along with each other. That the "conservatives" and "liberals" are marketing a self serving agenda, that has nothing to do with a citizens personal reality.

Then again, maybe he will continue to be an agent that separates us, rather than brings us together. I suspect that most on this thread would think that was a good thing.

John

Re <<Has Limbaugh ever suggested we should "lock up" drug addicts?>>

Oh, absolutely he has. Over and over and over.

Few days ago MSNBC show excerpts of his show from 1995. He has said repeatedly that users of all illegal drugs should be locked up and "sent up the river". He said "I know lots of Doctors will disagree with me, but I don't buy this sickness argument. Every time someone consumes illegal drug, they are making a personal choice and should be held accountable for that ... they should be arrested and sent up the river

I honestly feel bad for him. He got addicted to an extremely addictive drug which he was prescribed. And he has not able to beat the habit. He is human.

Over the last few years he has not said much about drug issues which he explained as no longer being the issue they used to be. But I think we now know the real reason. And lets be honest about his coming out party, he got caught in the act.

If you used to listen to him, do you not remember his tirade over Darrel Strawberry? Or the other Yankee guy who was caught for crack. He was brutal. Fortunately for him, not everyone is as ignorant as he has been.
