Ten re: Like it or not, we're going to have to cut a lot of social spending. Either that, or raise taxes, but that's not being very fiscally conservative. Actually I think we need to roll back the tax cuts, cut some social services, and cut much of the "pork" that has slipped through recently. We have to slow the growth of the cost of government, which has taken off since Clinton left office. Remember, what was it 3 or 4 years ago, Congress had some kind of madated restraints on spending? A senior moment, I sincerely can remember what they were. And I don't know why they went away. John
