Hi Hawkmoon; Re: "Gee whiz Bilow.. you're right."

Yes.

Re: "So explain why there are so many US servicemen buried in European cemeteries?"

WW2 has little to do with Vietnam. My snide comment on the non existence of reciprocal atrocities by Vietnamese troops against US civilians was in response to unclewest's comment: "And how about the atrocities they committed against American GIs. And how about the atrocities committed by the terrorists everywhere." #reply-19511416

A general principle (at least among those of us who believe in and fear God) is that "two wrongs do not make a right". Our soldiers never have permission to commit atrocities, no matter what the other side does. But in fact, Vietnam, like Iraq, was an "elective" war, one that we did not have to fight. As such, we should hold ourselves to a higher standard than high standards that we already hold ourselves to.

In WW2, the Germans declared war against us and sunk our civilian ships. In Vietnam and Iraq, the enemy never did any such thing. If we are taking revenge for the WTC attack, then we should be invading Saudi Arabia, not Iraq.
