res-Seems to me that Japan would be smart to recognize the constraints of their land mass.

This statement intrigued me kholt, please explain where this constraint begins? Seems to me Japan is a wonderfully successful society as it exists today.

If there were no nanny state, I do not know any reason why Europeans would want to increase their population. Do you?

Since they aren't going to get rid of the welfare, they need young people out there working hard, instead of hardly working. The Police are out there trying to find "Bin Laden," but all they can find is "Bin Loafing" and "Bin Sleeping."

I could be wrong but I look at a nations population growth similar to the way I look at tech stocks which are not growing.

Either you're healthy and growing, or slowly decaying and dying. Cultures which are not growing but contracting, are slowly dying.

I look around and see so little children in Italy it saddens me. My three kids typically take over any play areas we see such as at the mall. Unusual to see any couples with two children.
