People with tax bills to pay by April 15th will usually delay taking cap gains until at least January to delay the payment of the tax on that gain. So, there should be some pressure in Jan-Apr based on raising money to pay Uncle Sam.

That, combined with a resumption of heavy IPO activity and insider selling after Q4 earnings lockup periods end could point to a tipping of the scales around the end of this month.
