If that's to happen it should happen. Period! You mess with how the economy works, and it will come back and bite you. Frankly, if the economy evolves the way I would like it to evolve we all will be researchers, artist, and musicians. I'll never see that, my kids will never see that, and maybe their kids will not, but that's what is going to happen. In some parts of the world being a Dentist is considered a low form of work. With that in mind, if you are displaced by an over seas worker, you will to look beyond what you where doing to something that our economy in the states views worthy enough to have work done right here. Some of those people will go upstream to something that is much harder to understand then an overseas worker could handle, and that my friend, is where innovation comes in. Adversity is a good thing, efficiency comes out of that as does innovation.

The best way to find a job is right in front of you _ the Net. Not necessarily Monster or some other search engine, although those can be useful.
But when you apply at XYZ Corp. through their web site, you've already introduced yourself as computer literate and 'Net savy. Employers like that _ a lot.
As for outsourcing, it's inevitable. We've been losing manufacturing jobs since the 1960s. Look at the number of labor union workers, then and now.
Sure, it's painful, especially when those jobs are not replaced with new domestic initiatives. But that might be changing, especially if we get a renewed space program.
In the meantime, as the dollar goes down, we become more competitive again.
