I agree that there can be several determinants of quality cellphone data delivery, besides peak rates of WCDMA vs. CDMA 2000. But 380 kbps vs 2.4 million, the numbers used in Qcom's Annual Report are still staggering, if not fully accurate; almost a 10fold relative difference.

By comparison, I had home internet delivery thru Verizon DSL service at about 500 kbps, and am now much happier with Cable at 2 mbps. Sophisticated users, business people and professionals, will want and insist on the speedier product, because time is so crucial and scarce.
