"the state will stop recognizing marriage completely."

>>> Why?

>>> Doesn't it serve the state's interests by assigning and clarifying legal rights (inheritance, insurance, etc.)?

<<We now see the wholesale destruction and misery the Sodomites are about to cause this country.>>

Just like Jerry Falwell said about 9-11:

"I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen.'"

Guess we got some more smiting, or terrorist attacks, coming our way.

It is getting much worse, in my county they just passed an ordinance requiring all men to wear nipple rings, leather chaps with no underwear and recognize Judy Garland's birthday as an official holiday.

You don't seem to have too much faith in marriage as a social institution. Gay unions have no impact on me my wife or kids. Divorce rates undermine the institution of marriage much more than gay unions.

It's more likely that the intra-family marriage ban laws will be struck down. Those laws are on the books to prevent genetic mutations caused by inbreeding. Obviously, inbreeding wouldn't occur in a same sex marriage. And since the MA court has ruled that the perceived morality of the union is not of legal significance, there is no reason for continuing the ban.
